ABOUT DAVID THORNTON

Tbox09_WEB.jpg (4484 bytes)

David Thornton (known around the world as "Big Donna Fan") is a freelance and occasional writer of editorials and advice columns. His writing has been published in The Orange County Register, Call Center Magazine, Billboard.com, Amazon.com, Callcenterops.com, and in his own regular column "T-Box" at FOREVER DONNA Website.

His primary career success has included the restaurant, banking, and call center industries. Today he is the Director of Operations for a large outsourcing customer management firm. He has worked for such notable companies as Apple Computer, Sanwa Bank California, TeleTech, Marriott, and Home Savings of America. His work leading customer satisfaction strategies has led to multiple J.D. Power and Associates Awards, and recognition in leading publications including PC World, Zdnet, and Smart Money. He is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he studied Residential Design and graduated first in his class.

While Thornton enjoys writing about civil rights injustices and his industry best practices, his avocation is disco music and his favorite artist, Donna Summer. His passion for Summer's work dates back to 1976 when he felt compelled to buy the album "A Love Trilogy" at a JCPenney store because they were out of stock of "Love to Love You, Baby." Through cultural upheaval and political correctness, he has maintained his support for Ms. Summer in sometimes clandestine, but most often overt style.

Born in 1962 in an eastern suburb of Cleveland, Ohio to first generation American immigrants, Thornton now calls a light-filled hillside architectural house his home high in a canyon above Sunset Boulevard and Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles. It's the perfect backdrop for the music and art of Ms. Summer. He considers himself a discophile and subtle animal rights advocate. He lives with his partner of 6 years, Joe, and the other loves of his life Norma, an energetic 4-year-old pointer/border collie mix, and Lucas, a comical yellow Labrador Retriever who have both appeared on PAX TV. Both were rescues and adopted from The Milo Foundation, his favorite non-profit organization.
