She was the hottest dance music brazilian artist from 1977 to 1979: LADY ZU. It took only her biggest hit to play, "A Noite Vai Chegar" ("The Night is Closing In") to set every  dance floor on fire at disco clubs around the country. Such success was the reason for famous local TV host Chacrinha to nickname her as "The Brazilian Donna Summer" - a reference to the american singer who, at the time, was known as the "Disco Queen". The comparision wasn't wrong at all: both singers had similar range and tone - an amazing blend of powerful and yet sexy voice - not to mention that there was really a physical resemblance between both artists. Even the musical genre was somewhat similar: Donna Summer and Lady Zu became famous through disco music - but the fact is that both of them could sing everything - always in a great shape. Although some career hiatus in the 80's and 90's, she's still active. Her latest CD, "Number One" was released in 2002.
